Observe the truly wealthy around you, and you will find they share a common trait: even when they clearly see someone is bound to fail, they neither warn nor instruct, harboring no desire to act the teacher. Even though their wisdom and experience far surpass the other's, they offer no unsolicited counsel. For guiding or preaching is an expenditure of vital energy; the lowest form of emotional intelligence is relentless reasoning. The wise guard their silence, while the foolish hold forth. What truly convinces a person is never reason, but hitting the wall; what truly awakens a person is never preaching, but tribulation.
